UFC 116 Lesnar vs Carwin

UFC 116 Brock Lesnar defeats shane Carwin after rocky first round. This fight was scheduled as potential to be fight of the year with both fighter looking impressive in all of their previous fights.

Lesnar has enjoyed a mainly successive career in the UFC with his only loss coming against BJJ expert Frank Miir. Brock has been out for the last year with what was thought to be a career threatening injury and there was doubt that he would fight again. However whilst Brock was out Carwin was destroying everyone in the UFC and his overall MMA record before the fight was 12-0 with all fight ending in the first round by KO or TKO.

Going into to the fight there wasn’t a favourite the two fights had respect for each other. CArwin caught Brock early in the first round and Brock took a lot of damage but was able to hang on till the end of the round. In the second round Carwin came out looking tired and Brock managed to take him down and choke him out via Arm Triangle.
During the post fight interview Brock showed respect for Shane.
